Rooted in Ghana,
Rising in Oxford.
A community of students passionate about Ghana, its people, and its culture.

ABOUT US
The Oxford Ghana Society is a student-led community that brings together Ghanaians and friends of Ghana across the University.
We exist to celebrate Ghanaian identity, build meaningful connections, and support one another through the Oxford journey and beyond.
Our society is more than a group—it’s a home away from home. A space where heritage meets aspiration, where culture and conversation thrive, and where both
long-time leaders and fresh voices are welcomed. Whether through cultural events, academic conversations, or spontaneous courtyard picnics, we are here to connect, uplift, and amplify Ghanaian excellence in all its forms.
We host community gatherings, professional development opportunities, and cultural celebrations that reflect the richness of Ghana’s history, people, and future. We also aim to create stronger bridges between Ghanaians at Oxford and those back home making Oxford feel possible, visible, and ours.
Come as you are. Let’s build something beautiful together.

OUR VISION
The Oxford Ghana Society exists to build a vibrant and inclusive community for Ghanaians and friends of Ghana across the University of Oxford. Our purpose is to:
Foster a sense of belonging, cultural pride, and mutual support among members
Celebrate and promote Ghanaian heritage, creativity, scholarship, and leadership
Create platforms for connection, collaboration, and visibility within and beyond Oxford
Support the academic, social, and professional development of Ghanaian students and scholars
Amplify Ghanaian voices through events, storytelling, and strategic partnerships
Strengthen ties between Oxford-based Ghanaians and communities in Ghana and the diaspora
We are committed to cultivating a space where Ghanaians don’t just meet—but thrive, lead,
and feel at home.
